See Benedict Cumberbatch In The Imitation Game Poster

Actor plays Alan Turing in wartime code-breaking drama...

You've seen him as a modern-day Sherlock Holmes and as a new version of an iconic Star Trek villain, but now Benedict Cumberbatch is playing a real-life computing legend.

The 38-year-old star will be seen playing Alan Turing in a forthcoming movie drama called The Imitation Game.

Also starring Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Mark Strong, Rory Kinnear and Charles Dance, the film tells the story of computing pioneer Turing and the efforts of his team to crack the Enigma code during World War Two.

However, despite Turing's efforts helping to seal victory against Nazi Germany - saving thousands of lives - he was later persecuted in Britain for his homosexuality.

The movie arrives in UK cinemas on 14 November.
