BET AWARDS 2007

If you know your hip hop you know the BET Hip Hop Awards are a BIG DEAL. Last years bash was a whos who of urban music both on stage and off, including P Diddy, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Young Jeezey and Fat Joe to name but a few.

So its a good sign for our own scene that they have a Best UK Hip Hop category, AND that its as hotly contested as any other " thanks to the thousands of votes cast by you guys, the MTV Base viewers.

Looking to follow in the steps of last years winner Sway, are Kano, Dizzee Rascal, JME, Klashnekoff, Wiley and Lethal Bizzle- who are all nominated.

When MTV News Rickie caught up with Bizzle he showed hes got true love for the UK: Im honoured to be nominated man but more on a UK thing, not just for me," he said.

"Men like me, Dizz and Kano, were putting in mad work over here and for them to be acknowledging and taking time out to give a category for it is overwhelming.

Lethal continued: People are going to check out all the people on that list anyway. So win or lose its an achievement.
