This year see's the first Black Entertainment Television (aka. BET ) Hip Hop Awards - a night dedicated to phat beats, and some of the best rapping known to man, mouse or doggy-dogg.

MTV Base are bringing you it all Wednesday December 20 at 9pm.

The awards took place last month in Atlanta, and they contained some absolutely phenomenal live performances.

Ludacris, Young Jeezy and Jermaine Dupri - all home grown Atlanta lads - kicked the evening off with a jaw rattling performance of 'Welcome to Atlanta.'

Later on Snoop, Lil' Wayne and The Game brought the crowd to their feet and the house down around their ears.

On top of that, this year BET are the first major US awards ceremony to present a Best UK Artist Award in recognition of the growing influence of the UK scene over seas.

The awards will be watched by a crowd of triple A list hotties, all arriving with the glitz and glam that comes as standard at one of the biggest nights in the US Black music calandar!

The BET Hip Hop Awards will be screening Wednesday December 20 at 9pm on MTV Base - so do yourself a favour, and don't miss it!
