Beyoncé Drops Two New Tracks '7/11' And 'Ring Off'
After hearing a 30-second snippet of 7/11 yesterday (November 20), the Ariel Rechtshaid-produced song sees Queen B deliver an auto-tuned, almost rap-like command over a warped beat.
And before you get any ideas that Ring Off could be about Bey's marriage to Jay-Z, TIME reports that it is actually an 'emotional recap' of Bey's mother, Tina Knowles' recent divorce.
It sees the former Destiny's Child star sing the heartfelt lyrics: "You used to dress and fix your hair/ Then you’d smile through your tears/ In the mirror you would stare and say a prayer.
"In the mirror you would stare/And say a prayer like, 'I wish he said I'm beautiful'/ I wish it didn't hurt at all/I don't know how I got here, I was once the one who had his heart.
"Until you had enough, then you took that ring off/You took that ring off/ So tired of the lies and trying and fighting and crying/ You took that finger."
Both tracks are set to feature on the repackaged Platinum Edition of Queen B's 2013 self-titled album, which is due for release on November 24.
