Beyoncé Officially Joins Disney's The Lion King Remake

Queen Bey leads the all-star cast for the Disney remake...

Beyoncé is returning to the big screen.

After months of rumours, Disney have confirmed that the pop icon is starring in the live-action remake of The Lion King that will be released in summer 2019.

The singer will voice Nala, the fierce lioness who befriends - and (spoiler!) later marries - Simba, who will be voiced by the brilliant Donald Glover.

The remake of the 1994 classic will be directed byJon Favreau, who handled the Disney's live-action reimagining of The Jungle Book that was released last year.

The Lion King will be Beyoncé's first movie role in six years when it hits cinemas in July 2019, after she did a voice role for the 2013 animated filmEpic.

While not yet confirmed, there are reports of a $25 million pay check'and'Bey having full control of the accompanying soundtrack, so this is a major move for the superstar.

Elsewhere on the A-list line-up is Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon and Chiwetel Ejiofor as the evil Scar. WHAT A CAST.

Scheduled for summer 2019, the movie is apparently pencilled in for a July 19 release date for now.

This is going to be AMAZING!
