Blac Chyna Is Being Slammed For Endorsing Skin Lightening Cream
She’s planning on promoting the cream in Africa.
It turns out that there really is such a thing as bad publicity, as Blac Chyna has landed herself in hot water with fans after promoting a skin whitening cream online.
The model has linked up with beauty brand Whitenicious by Dencia to drop her own cream that’s meant to reduce “the visibility and intensity of age spots [by] lightening their appearance.”
The $250 Swarovski-crystal studded cream has been being advertised on both Chyna’s Instagram account and the beauty brands, with the first official launch set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria.
People online are now dragging Rob Kardashian's ex for promoting a “bleaching cream” even though the product claims to “lighten without bleaching [the] skin out.”
This news as the World Health Organisation claim that 77% of Nigerian women use skin-lightening products, which is the highest percentage in the world.
One person on Twitter called the star out for “being complicit in something so damaging,” with another adding that they’re “disgusted.”
Another took issue with the fact that promoting such a cream is “exploiting Nigeria’s colourism problem.”
While Stephanie explained how they’re more interested in the self love movement than they are about this kind of product.
Chyna’s yet to comment on the controversy.
