Black Eyed Peas Play China

Will I Am says his group will gig in the country despite human rights abuses

Black Eyed Peas are set to play live in China despite calls for them to boycott the country. The nation has been criticised for human rights abuses and recent repression of Tibetan protests but Will.I.Am says his group will still visit.

In an interview with the 'BBC' he said it wasnt right to punish a whole country but admitted the situation in Tibet was messed up. Protests against Chinese control of Tibet have dogged the Olympic torchs trip around the globe.

Of the political situation Will said: "If America really wants to make a difference, it should stop importing China's products and pay back its debt."

Will.I.Am releases his new single with Cheryl Cole this Monday and has also come out in support of presidential candidate Barack Obama.
