Blur To Headline Isle of Wight Festival 2015!
The Magic Whippers will hit the Channel Islands on June 13…
Blur have been announced as the final headliner for Isle of Wight Festival in a bid to dominate this summer’s events.
The Britpop rockers will join a whole host of big names including Pharrell Williams and Jessie Ware, as well as fellow headliners Fleetwood Mac, The Black Keys and The Prodigy.
Speaking ahead of the festival, Blur guitarist Graham Coxon said: “These summer shows are going to be quite different to the gigs we did a few years back. We're excited to play the new record live and we'll have some surprises in store for the fans too.”
The band’s bassist, Alex James, added: “The British summer is just not complete without a trip to a festival. We've never played Isle of Wight Festival before so we're really looking forward to this one. And we get to take our tour bus on a boat.”

The news follows the announcement of the four-piece’s new album, The Magic Whip, due April 27.
Isle of White Festival promoter John Giddings quipped: “I'm a huge fan of blur and have always wanted to bring them to the Isle of Wight Festival so I'm really pleased we've finally done it. I know they're going to blow the crowd away on the Saturday night - see you down the front.”
The Isle of Wight Festival will run from June 11 to 14 and take place at Seaclose Park, Newport.
