Boy George To Sweep Streets

New York Judge sentences pop star to community service

Boy George has been sentenced to five days community service by a New York judge for wasting police time.
Judge Anthony Ferrara has given the 80s legend until the end of August to do it or he will be jailed. The time is likely to include cleaning the streets of New York after Ferrara rubbished the singers suggestion that he could spend the time giving out fashion advice for an Aids charity.
When the 45-year-old was asked by reporters outside the court how he felt about cleaning work, he replied: Ive always been a scrubber.
Boy George was arrested back in October 2005 after claiming his Manhattan flat had been burgled, and cops allegedly found cocaine there. In March he pleaded guilty to falsely reporting an incident and was fined 550.
