She's been given no end of stick for the controversial adoption of Baby David Banda, but now Madonna can count Hollywood hottie Brad Pitt as one person who's on her side.

Speaking at the premier of his new movie 'Babel' in LA last night, the actor stuck up for Madge and hubby Guy Richie (his mate from the flick, 'Snatch') and their decision to give the little 'un a new home.

"The most important thing is that their intentions are right," he said. "They are trying to give a kid a home and education who probably wouldn't get that and good health care."

Brad, who has two adopted children - Maddox and Zahara - with Angelina Jolie, went on, "I don't really know all the dynamics... But I do know their (Madge and Guy's) hearts are in the right place and they will know what to do. They would not do the wrong thing."
