Brad Pitt 'Too Distracting For Jury Service'

Movie star turned away from court when he arrived for his civic duty...

Brad Pitt will NOT be appearing in a new real-life courtroom drama set in Los Angeles - because he's too famous!

The movie megastar was recently summoned to do his civic duty as a jury member at the city's criminal court, and arrived with every intention of doing his bit.

However the 51-year-old hunk later found out he had not been selected to take part, amid concerns that he could prove a distraction to the other jurors and court personnel.

"You just can't stick Brad Pitt in a jury box and expect 11 jurors to ignore him," California lawyer William R Lively told the Mail.

"It's only natural that those jurors would be watching to see how Brad reacts to what's being said and that they could be influenced by his opinions once the jury goes behind closed doors to render a verdict."

The authorities may have learned from an incident last year in which Tom Hanks was dismissed from jury duty after being approached by a member of the city's prosecution staff on a lunch break - which was against the rules.
