The final series of Breaking Bad won two gongs at the Writers Guild Awards in Los Angeles last night.

Veep and House Of Cards were among the other notable small screen winners at the annual shindig, which recognises the scribes behind successful movies and TV shows.

And in the movies world, Spike Jonze took the best original screenplay award for Her, with Captain Phillips nabbing best adapted screenplay for writer Billy Ray.

Veep won best TV comedy and the Netflix exclusive political thriller House Of Cards won best new TV series.

The Simpsons won the best animation award for an episode entitled A Test Before Trying.

And 30 Rock took the best comedy episode award for an episode called Hogcock!.
