BGT: Dancing Granny Paddy And Nico Forced To Withdraw
Injury sees salsa-dancing granny and partner pull out of semi final…
Dancing granny Paddy Jones has been forced to withdraw from the semi-final of Britain's Got Talent.
The 79-year-old salsa dancer and her partner Nico will not be taking part in Saturday's (31 May 2014) show due to injury. Paddy is believed to have hurt her ribs after taking a fall during rehearsals.
A BGT spokesperson said: ''After seeking medical advice, Paddy will not be able to perform in the semi-final. Unfortunately because of this Paddy and Nico have had to withdraw from the competition.''
Paddy and Nico wowed judge Amanda Holden enough to press the Golden Buzzer, which assured them a place in the live shows in the ITV talent competition.
Amanda said she was ''devastated'' the pair wouldn’t be able to perform on Saturday.
''Ever since I first saw Paddy dance I fell in love with her. I was so looking forward to her and Nico wowing us with another amazing routine in the semi-finals and I really think she could have won the whole show," she said.
''The most important thing though is that she makes a speedy recovery and gets back to living life to the full.''
The winning act will be crowned in the live final, which takes place on Saturday 7 June 2014.
Hope you get well soon Paddy!
