Is-she-or-isn't-she-preggers-popstrel Britney Spears has been booted off the guest list for the prestigious Vienna Opera Ball this February in favour of her new arch nemesis, Paris Hilton.

Brit was originally due to attend the swanky annual bash with Paz on February 18 but has been ceremoniously dumped following the girls' falling out.

Neither Brit nor Paz have revealed why one minute they were joined at the rip-stockinged hip and not the next - although it's rumoured they fell out after Britney was spotted getting on rather too well with Hilton's ex, Brandon Davis over Christmas - but this latest snub for Britney looks set to deepen their rift.

Paris is reportedly earning a cool $1m for her appearance at the ball - which is the highlight of Austria's ball season and which sees royalty, socialites and celebrities from all over the world attend.

The hotel heiress was invited by mega-rich industrialist Richard Lugner, 74, and his socialite wife, Christina.

She is a very good advertisement for the Opera Ball, Lugner explained, while his missus extrapolated on why Britney would not be joining Paris. They unfortunately do not get along anymore," she said.

It's bound to come as a blow to Brit. Just days ago it was revealed she'd been dropped from appearing in an NFL Super Bowl ad because organisers had opted for Paris instead.

Honestly, the only time this pair stand a chance of bumping into each other again is at the top of a worst dressed celeb list...
