Britney Spearshas revealed she believes there is pressure for girls to be sexy.

Following Selena Gomez's admission that she is o[uuid=1b7058b8-a397-4ea0-807e-753a88a6bd4e]ften told she is "not sexy enough"[/uuid], Spears claims that there is pressure women in music to raunch it up.

Speaking of her own sexiness during her Work B**** music video, the pop princess told The Showbiz 411: "I think it goes with what I do. It's my job to portray more of a sex kitten than what I really am at home with my kids.

"As artists I think people who are really shy - I'm really shy in person - so when I get on stage, it's really good for me to become this different character because it's like therapy for me."

When asked if people at the top have pressured her to stay sexy, the 31-year old explained: "I think there is a pressure for girls to have the right nose, the right body and you are your environment so it becomes contagious when you get in that environment.

"You actually become that yourself, so it's important to keep cool people around you to keep you grounded."

Spears also hit the headlines this week after [uuid=8b2f434a-2e30-4cc0-9a94-96a5b5c8020d]confessing that her split[/uuid] from ex-fiancé Jason Trawick, wasn't her "hardest" break-up.

Her new album Britney Jean is due for release in the UK on December 2, with Work B**** available from November 3.
