Britney’s Expensive Dispute
Britney Spears Custody Dispute Costs Over $466,000
Britneys battle with Kevin Federline, aka K-Fed, was painstakingly expensive as well as intrusive.
The celebrity couples fight over their two sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston, which resulted in K-Fed retaining full custody, cost the starlet in excess of $466,000 in legal bills.
Spears and Federline married in 2004 and completed divorce proceedings in 2007, meaning theunion lasted a great deal longer than Britney's first marriage which came in at approximately 55 hours!
Her secondmarriage resulted in an agreement requiring the 26 year to pay Fed-ex $20,000 per month!
According to court documents two law firms represented Spears, the massive mentioned above is on top of $250,000 that Britney agreed to pay Federlines lawyers.
The most substantial receipt comes from attorney Stacy D. Phillips, who claims that although he has reduced his bill by $125,000 his costs still come in at $407,000, not bad for four months work.
The relatively small(!) addition is a $60,000 charge from Attorney Laura Wasser, who took over the case in June. Wasser negotiated a deal between Federline and Spears' teams that allows the starlet more access to her sons.
It's expected that the Britneys additional attorneys and the Los Angeles court commissioner will challenge Phillips costs.
