Britney Spears is claimed to have rejected a $10m offer to become a judge on the next series of The X Factor USA.

We told you in the week that Britters was in talks with show producers to either host or become a judge on the show, but now it is claimed that she is asking for a whopping $20m (£12.75m).

And entertainment industry website Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdulwere fired (along with British host Steve Jones) in the aftermath of the first series.

Sunday World quoted a source in Britney's camp as saying that she was keen to get the job.

The mole said: "'The timing is perfect. Brit would love to connect with fans on a weekly basis and loves working on TV after several guest appearances on the sitcom How I Met Your Mother."
