Brittany Murphy's Final Film, Something Wicked, Gets Release Date
The star tragically died in December 2009...
A release date has finally been set for Something Wicked, the last film Brittany Murphy starred in before her death.
In the movie, Brittany played Susan, a psychotherapist, alongside One Tree Hill’s Shantel VanSanten and Pretty Little Liars star Julian Morris.
The film wrapped in 2009, just months before Brittany’s died of pneumonia in December. Her husband, Simon Monjack, a film producer, died five months later of the same cause.
After Brittany passed away, Something Wicked underwent re-shoots and eventually finished post-production last month.
The film will open in the USA on 4th April in Eugene, Oregon, where the it was shot in 2009. It will then be rolled out in neighboring cities Seattle and Portland.
Depending on the film’s success, it may also open in additional locations, possibly even internationally.
In one of the last interviews before she died, Brittany – who famously starred in cult comedy Clueless – explained that she didn’t have a preference when it came to picking comedies or tragedies.
“For me, I’ve had the good fortune of being able to play characters that are stuck in the middle of comedic situations, comedic stories, ridiculous or tragic,” she explained.
“It all has to do with the story and the director and really that’s where the decisions are made on my behalf.
