Brittany Murphy's Mother Denies Mould Reports
Sharon Murphy says the claims are 'absurd'...
Brittany Murphy's mother Sharon has dismissed reports that mould growing in her daughter's home could have caused her and hubby Simon Monjack's death.
As we reported yesterday, fungi found in Murphy's Hollywood Hills home could have led to the pneumonia that killed the actress and Monjack.
However, Sharon Murphy has now stated that the information that hit the press yesterday in incorrect.
Brittany's mother explained: "I have never been personally asked by the coroner or anyone from the Health Department to come and inspect my home for mould. In the last eight months, I have been through the most unimaginable events, which no one could ever fathom."
She added: "I have and will continue to be very cooperative and fully comply with any such request. It's absurd that this kind of misinformation is being reported by the media."
A spokesperson for Murphy's family also claimed that the couple's home had already been inspected for mould last year.
The rep claimed: "Due to the inferior products used by the builder and sub contractors, the Murphy home had a persistent leak problem. Simon Monjack [hired] an attorney and filed a lawsuit against [them]."
"In October 2009, to insure the home was safe to occupy, the attorney hired a well-respected company to conduct a full inspection of the home which would include … checking for any possible mould."
The official cause of the 8 Mile actress and her husband's death was said to be cause by pneumonia and anemia following their passing within 6 months of each other.
