Brody Dalle On Arctic Monkeys Frontman: "I’m Proud Of You Alex Turner!"
The punk rocker said she couldn't understand the fuss over Alex's BRITs speech...
Brody Dalle may have taken a hiatus from music but the punk rock queen – who happens to be married to Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme – is back and more outspoken than ever.
“I don’t get it, I don’t understand what the big deal was,” she said of Alex Turner’s opinion-dividing speech at the BRITs, where the Arctic Monkeys singer declared “Rock ‘n’ roll will never die!”
“I heard there was a kerfuffle about what he said and then I read what he said and - Is it just me? - There’s nothing wrong with what he said!” Brody stated. “More people need to say what he said, I reckon. I’m proud of you Alex Turner, wherever you are!”
When it comes to rock ‘n’ roll, the former Distillers frontwoman would be happy to see it make a comeback in the charts. “There’s always time [for it] to make a comeback,” she said. “There’s always time for rock and roll. I like dance too so I just feel like it can all exist, but it’s definitely awesome when rock n roll is dominating the charts."
