Christopher Bailey Does It Again: Burberry Prorsum SS15 Show Verdict

Burberry Prorsum brings the birds, the bees and the best of British style to Kensington Gardens on day four of LFW…

Rushing into Burberry Prorsum’s Spring/Summer 2015 show at Kensington Gardens at the same time as Poppy Delevingne, MTV Style knew we were in for an afternoon delight courtesy of Mr Christopher Bailey, with his Birds And The Bees themed show.

Taking her seat on the front row, Poppy joined sister Cara Delevingne alongside Kate Moss, who had arrived together hand in hand. Teaming her navy silk Burberry trouser suit with sneakers and a monogramed CJD handbag, Queen D was fully representing the brand, for which she and Kate are currently fragrance campaign stars.

Mossy, meanwhile rocked black leather trousers and a trench, keeping her sunglasses on for the duration of the show. Fashion, dahling. Also on the front row with the ladies were photographer Mario Testino and singer Paloma Faith, who wore a trench from the collection about to be unveiled, accessorised with one of her signature hats.

The SS15 Burberry show itself was a romantic affair, with sheer tulle dresses continuing last season’s visible underwear approach – on the bottom half, anyway. While models wore high-waisted pants, most also went braless, opting to #freethenipple. However, as with all Burberry shows, it was done in ridiculously classy fashion.

Those dreamy wing-pleat tulles were offset by Bailey’s outerwear, always a focal point of the show, with cropped denim jackets given a 2014 update by gloss leather collars and pocket trims. A lilac high-shine number modelled by Jourdan Dunn was a collection highlight, as were the bold printed trench coats with tulle bow belts, which made for a beautifully colourful finale.

Speaking of Ms. Dunn, BFF Cara barely took her eyes off her as she floated down the runway, with Suki Waterhouse also amongst those walking. James Bay provided the soundtrack, playing an acoustic set at the end of the runway, in what was another incredible show for Burberry, Christopher Bailey and British fashion.
