Busta Rhymes has been arrested for alleged drink driving, by cops in his home town New York

The hip hop heavyweight, whose hits include Gimme Some More and Touch It, was taken into custody at 12.40am this morning.

Police said they pulled Busta over because his windows were too tinted but then smelt alcohol on his breath. The rapper, real name Trevor Smith, has had as number of brushes with the law and is awaiting trial for assault.

An initial hearing on this arrest is expected later today.
