Calvin Harris Developing Jay Z And Will Smith Comedy
The DJ is working on a fictional comedy set in the world of electronic music...
The half-hour comedy show, which is called Higher, will be “set in the world of electronic music,” reports Deadline.com.
Written by Trainspotting author Irvine Walsh, Harris helped develop the show before teaming up with Jay Z and Smith, who are set to executive produce together with Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett.
Jay-Z and Smith are already collaborating on a re-make of ’80s musical Annie, which stars Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.
It is unclear whether Smith – who found fame on hit ‘90s comedy Fresh Prince of Bel Air – will also appear in the show.
HBO – the network behind comedies including Entourage, Girls and Sex and the City – are developing the show with Harris.
Although Harris has won both Grammys and an Ivor Novello Award, this will be his first foray into television. The DJ recently broke up with singer Rita Ora, who will make her silver screen debut in the highly anticipated 50 Shades Of Grey movie.
