After a hugely successful 2018 for the singer/songwriter, including her self-titled debut album hitting the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, the same album peaking at #2 on the UK official charts, four MTV EMAs, two MTV VMAs, and, now, a 2x GRAMMY-NOMINATED artist in 2019… Camilla Cabello is truly taking the music industry by storm.

But now she’s coming for Hollywood, as the singer is about to make her big screen debut in a reimagining of Cinderella, and we are ecstatic at the news. (We mean, after the 'Havana' music video, it was only a matter of time before someone scooped her up in a movie with THOSE acting capabilities).

Camila Cabello will be starring in and contributing to the music for the new Cinderella

Not only is the singer going to be starring in the adaption, but she'llbe involved in the making of the music for the new film. Well, it’s not surprising. Have you heard her album? It's 11 songs that are straight fire, no wonder 'Havana' has over 1 billion streams. The project has been set up by Sony’s Columbia label, and although little has been revealed about the plot, it is going to be following the original Cinderella narrative with a “musical bent thrown in for good measure.”

It is going to be produced by James Corden who came up with the idea originally - and who, since inputting his “Carpool Karaoke” segment in his ‘The Late Late Show’ - has gone on to have many successful musical endeavours. The TV host previously won a Tony Award for Best Lead Actor in a Play, and his TV show has earned him an Emmy. Legends only.

He is producing the project alongside Leo Pearlman, and Sony is putting the project on fast track for production. So, fingers crossed, it should be available for our viewing pleasure in the near future!
