Captain America And Iron Man Throw Down In Trailer For Movie Threequel
Superheroes at war are the surprise hit of D23...
WARNING: This story contains mild spoilers - if you haven't seen all the existing Marvel movies you'd better be careful.
With all the Star Wars revelations, you'd think the much-loved sci-fi franchise had stolen the show at D23 Expo this weekend.
However the biggest hit with fans at the Anaheim Convention Centre in California was the trailer for Captain America: Civil War - which sees the Cap going head-to-head with Iron Man.
The trailer hasn't hit the web yet, but MTV's Crystal Bell was there to check it out and has given us the lowdown.
She confirmed that the movie will also feature Black Widow, Falcon, Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Ant-Man - plus new arrival Black Panther.
And she said: "It seems more like an Avengers: Age of Ultron follow-up than a Captain America movie.
"Kevin Feige, with a little help from Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie, introduced the epic action sequence — and possibly the first trailer — from the film.
"Captain America jumps right into action, with Sam and Natasha, in a soaring action-packed scene that finds the Cap at odds with pretty much everyone, including his fellow Avengers Iron Man and War Machine."
And that wasn't the end of the teasers.
"It also looks like Hawkeye has sided with Stark," she continued. "In another scene, we watch Black Widow go head to head with her broody BFF. We also see Bucky in his cell, picking up right where that Ant-Man post-credits scene left off.
"But it was Ant-Man and Captain America's hilarious introduction that proved Civil War might be tad lighter than the typical Captain America film."
The event also saw a Doctor Strange presentation in which a sizzle reel of concept art was shown off - again sadly not on the web.
And star Benedict Cumberbatch put in an appearance via video, joshing with the crowd by pretending to accidentally give them a Vulcan greeting from Star Trek.
