Cara Delevingne Opens Up About Her Battle With Depression As A Teenager
The model-turned-actress suffered at the age of 15.
Ever since she started kick started her career at the age of 10, Cara Delevingne has always been the most down to earth supermodel in the fashion world.
But while the Cara we see in the public eye is always hilarious and open, the rising actress has revealed that she battled a ‘terrible wave of depression’ at the age of 15.
Speaking to OK! ahead of the release of her latest film Pan, Cara got deep about her struggles during childhood.
She told the magazine: “My mother battled a heroin addiction for years and is now writing her memoir.
“As a child I suffered a lot because I wasn’t able to spend very much time with her, and then at 15 this terrible depression hit me.”
She added: “School was a nightmare for me and life felt awful. That’s when I discovered that acting was my only way to feel alive.”

Of course, Cara’s acting career has now started to skyrocket, and it’s currently the work she’s most excited about.
“It allows me to indulge my sense of feeling liberated when you can throw yourself into the world of another person,” she continued.
“Whenever I start work on a new film I feel like I’m able to create this new world for myself and start a new adventure.”
