Cara & Pharrell Sing Together In New Chanel Film And It’s Too Darn Cute
The Reincarnation teaser is so beaut we can’t wait for the full thing…
Directed by Karl Lagerfeld to accompany the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d'art collection – which will debut December 2nd in Salzburg, clashing with London’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show – the clip sees Cara and Pharrell take on the roles of Empress Elisabeth of Austria and Franz Joseph I, Emperor of Austria, who come alive from paintings on a hotel wall.
Dancing to Pharrell-composed track ‘CC The World’, the film explores the history of the iconic Chanel jacket, with Geraldine Chaplin reprising her role as Gabrielle Chanel following her part in last year’s Métiers d'art film.
“None of this would have been possible without Pharrell Williams, Cara Delevingne and Geraldine Chaplin,” says Karl Lagerfeld. “It’s the perfect cast. Pharrell is a genius and Geraldine at her best in the role of Gabrielle Chanel in the year of her comeback.”
Also starring in the Chanel short – which will be revealed in full on December 1st – is Hudson Kroenig, the 6-year-old son of Karl’s model muse Brad Kroenig, who will also walk in the Métiers d'art show.
Of Hudson, who has previously walked the Chanel runway hand-in-hand with Cara Delevingne, Karl told Women’s Wear Daily, “Hudson is a star like Choupette. And Choupette is the Garbo of cats.”
ICYMI, Choupette is Karl’s beloved pet pussy, who tweets @ChoupettesDiary.
