Cara Delevingne has just scored her first US Vogue cover thanks to her Instagram antics – all hail Queen Delevingne!
Covering the iconic title’s September 2014 issue, alongside Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls, Cara is flanked by the headline ‘The Instagirls! Models Of The Moment In The Clothes Of The Season.’
Tucked inside the foldaway cover are fellow models Arizona Muse, Edie Campbell, Imaan Hammam, Fei Fei Sun, Vanessa Axente and Andreea Diaconu, all clad in some seriously swish gowns.
Shot by Mario Testino, the cover marks a return to Vogue iconising models instead of celebrities, while still remaining relevant with 2014’s social media obsessed audience.
“I am so proud to show you my first @voguemagazine cover with the gorgeous @joansmalls @karliekloss shot by @mariotestino @tonnegood @lucia_pieroni @hairbychristiaan #theseptemberissue,” wrote Cara on Instagram.
Also a first-time cover for Karlie, the Victoria’s Secret Angel wrote, “It has always been a dream of mine to be on the cover of #Vogue, words cannot express my gratitude and excitement to be a part of the #INSTAGIRLS issue. Thank you @mariotestino and @tonnegood!”
Joan, meanwhile, hit the nail on the head with her comment on models being back on magazine covers.
“I've waited for this Moment all my career and it's finally Here,” she wrote. “I'm so honored to be on the cover of @voguemagazine along with my friends @caradelevingne and @karliekloss who are so deserving of this as well. Thank you to everyone who played a role in this #ModelsOnCovers #SeptemberIssue #Vogue #WedidIt.”
Congratulations all round, ladies!
