We were pretty surprised to see Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne’s names left off the list of models walking in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. However, on realising Chanel’s Metiers d'Art Show will be held on the same night – December 2nd – in Austria, it all makes sense.

Both Cara and Kendall have walked in multiple Chanel shows, including Karl Lagerfeld’s supermarket sweep spectacular for AW14 and most recently his feminist protest for SS15, so it makes sense that they would be inclined to go down the Chanel route again.

[related] While Cara has also walked for Victoria’s Secret in their past two runway shows, she’s yet to gain her Angel wings, while at Chanel she’s fronting the Autumn/Winter 2014 print campaign. Could her stronger alliance to the Chanel label have worked against Victoria’s Secret in securing the iconic British model for their first London show?

As for Kendall, this would have been her first time walking for Victoria’s Secret, so who’s to say she was even a casting option? Karl has lost some of his favourite girls to VS though, including Angel Karlie Kloss and model Josephine Skriver, but we’re sure he’ll be more than happy if Cara and Kendall have stuck with #TeamChanel.

Gigi Hadid has also been rumoured to be walking in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but having appeared on the runway for Chanel in October, it could be another tough call. As for Malaika Firth, she’s previously strutted her stuff for both brands, but is remaining quietas to her whereabouts on December 2nd.
