John Green Defends That Totally Awks Cara Delevingne Interview And We Love What He Has To Say
The Paper Towns author explains why he admires her after THAT awful interview.
Has your cringe muscle recovered from THAT awks Cara Delevingne interview?
Because now Paper Towns author John Green has weighed in on the 'Good Morning Sacramento' segment of car crash TV.
In the video which went viral this week, the US local news team interview Cara about her starring role as Margo in Paper Towns… but introduce her as ‘Carla’ and then insultingly ask her if shehas ever read the book. All before telling her she looks "moody".
It was a disaster.
Now, John Green has defended Cara for refuseing to give fake, enthused answers to their ‘lazy’ questions:
“I am friends with Cara, and the author of the book in question. I spent more than a month with her on tour in Europe and the U.S., and I watched as again and again, she was asked this question,” says Green in a post on Medium, “Cara has read the book (multiple times), but the question is annoying — not least because her male costar, Nat Wolff, was almost always asked when he’d read the book, while Cara was almost always asked if she’d read it.”
Instead, praises Green, Cara “refuses to stick to the script. She refuses to indulge lazy questions.”
“Cara Delevingne doesn’t exist to feed your narrative or your news feed — and that’s precisely why she’s so fucking interesting,” says Green.
And we love them all even more.
