The Face Of An Angel Director: “In Two Minutes I Knew Cara Was The Right Person”
Michael Winterbottom shares why he cast Queen Delevingne, after not knowing who she was…
The Face Of An Angel director Michael Winterbottom has revealed that “it took about two minutes” for him to know Cara Delevingne was right for the role of Melanie.
“I have to admit, this is very embarrassing, but I didn’t know who Cara was at all,” says Michael, when speaking of the casting experience.
“The casting director and I met her one morning in a hotel, and she’d flown in overnight from somewhere like America or the Caribbean, come straight off the plane, into the room and was absolutely on it.
“It took about two minutes and I thought, ‘Definitely she’s the right person.’”
The Face Of An Angel – which is based on the real life Amanda Knox story - debuted at London Film Festival on Saturday night and will hit cinemas later this year.
