7 Kids Born Into Rap Royalty
As Cardi B welcomes her first, Kulture joins an A-list squad...
This month brought the arrival of rap royalty as Cardi B gave birth to her first child with husband Offset, who immediately joined a host of offspring that will be respected for life thanks to their badass parents.
Whether part of the Bey-Z clan or a sweet surprise, these babies are sorted for life and will definitely be the coolest kids around town - unless they all live in the same neighbourhood, then what happens?
Anyway, let's see what rap royalty will look like in 20-odd years down below.
Kulture Kiari Cephus
The daughter of Cardi B and Migos' Offset, Kulture Kiari Cephus was born earlier this month. Entering the sphere of rap royalty in a major way, she even shares her name with her father's group Migos' albums. The chart-topping rap trio have released two albums titled Culture, making her name even more epic. And with Cardi B as a mother? The woman who has broken records by being the first female rapper to have two Number 1 singles in America less than two years into her music career? Whew. Kulture has legend in her veins!
Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter
Beyoncé and Jay-Z started a family together six years ago when daughter Blue Ivy was born in January 2012. Their first born quickly became an icon in her own right when she became the youngest person ever to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 when she featured on Jay-Z's song 'Glory' just weeks old. Twins Rumi and Sir, born in 2017, are equally legendary as Bey's pregnancy announcement broke the record for the most-liked picture on Instagram and caused a media storm. With rumours that Queen B is pregnant for a fourth time, the Carter clan might get even bigger.
North, Saint and Chicago West
Imagine Kanye West was your daddy? Well, that's the case for North, Saint and Chicago West, the rap legend's three children with the one and only Kim Kardashian West. Five-year-old North West was the first to cause a media frenzy with her name, although by the time Saint and Chicago came round North sounded no different than Rachael, really. Not only are the West kids part of rap royalty but they've got a double whammy as their mum is part of one of the most famous families on the planet, so let's hope none of them have a problem with the paparazzi because they're already some of the most recognisable people in the world.
The Diddy Clan
Diddy, P. Diddy, Puff Daddy, Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs - you know who we're talking about - has six kids, some of whom are already a lot older than Kulture and co., and forging careers in music as rap royalty would be expected to do. Diddy's eldest Justin Dior Combs (how expensive) is now 24 while his youngest (twins) are now 12 years old. While Justin is an American football player, Christian Combs is making his mark in the rap world as he released his debut mixtape 90s' Baby earlier this year, featuring a collab with his dad, and recently dropped a song with Chris Brown. Watch this space!
This one sounds rather ominous but it's all in good reason. Rumours were swirling for months that Drake's first child had come into the world and while he has now confirmed that is indeed true, we're still no further forward with details. All we know for now is that Drake has a son with adult film star Sophie Brussaux, although it's unknown exactly how old the baby is or what his name is. How did Drake confirm the news? On his latest album Scorpion, of course, and we're sure we'll hear more about how things went down on his next release. One thing's for sure, with Scorpion breaking all kinds of records since its release, the baby won't need to work a day in his life.
Marshall Mathers' Family
Eminem, how many kids do you think he has? Just the one? The Hailie we all know from his music? Wrong. Hailie isn't the only member of rap royalty on Eminem's side, as he has two more children: Whitney Scott and Alaina Marie. Whitney and Alaina have been adopted and raised by Eminem alongside his biological daughter Hailie, who made headlines very early in her life as she was at the centre of a nasty custody battle between the rap icon and her mother. Sadly for some, she's not interested in the rap world as she's studying at Michigan State University, now 22 years old. Ah, well - at least she's got a back-up plan!
A member of rap royalty that might not be as well-known as some of the above, Knight Jones is the son of Nas and Kelis. Yep, with rap legend Nas as dad and badass pop-R&B-rap-disco diva Kelis as mum, Knight is one boy not to be messed with. The 8-year-old kid was hailed as the inspiration for Kelis' timeless dance record Flesh Tone and for that alone he should receive free drinks his entire adult life.
