It's always gutting when your fave reality stars leave a show. They cry or shout or kind of just disappear and announce it off air.But a LOT of the time they realise their mistake and come crawling back.

And we can't help but feel a little bit smug...

1. TOWIE’s Lydia Bright...

After her relationship with James Argent broke down in 2012 Lydia decided to quit the show to focus on her fashion interests. She said in her final episode: “I've still got an ex boyfriend like Arg and every time I go to events he makes my life a misery.”

“I just find it so hard all the time. I need to get away from this so he can get over me and I can move on with my life. I just don't think I can go on with Arg there there there. I hate hate the boy so much and I just need to get away. And in time I can come back and spend time with my friends again.”

But cut to 2014 and she returned in the TOWIE finale, in a triumphant blaze, almost making Arg wet himself. Lols.

2. Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson…

We WEPT as we said goodbye to Marnie in series 11 when she decided to quit the show to focus on her engagement to TOWIE star Ricky Rayment. But after the pair split she was straight back into the Geordie fold for season 12. PHEW.

3. TOWIE’s Lauren Pope…

In the world’s most exciting news Lauren Pope has announced she is coming back to our TOWIE screens. After leaving in 2015 to focus on her hair extensions line she has announced she’ll be retuning for the season finale in May.

She said: “I hope [I can salvage my friendship with Chloe Sims]. It may take some work. We’re in a good place now as we have the fun and the jokes back in our friendship, so now we just have to build on that. We may fall out but when we make up we just go back to how it was."

5. Made In Chelsea’s Frederick Ferrier…

We’re not 100% sure why Frederik disappeared from our Chelsea lives after series four but we were pretty chuffed to see him re-appear in season 12. Here’s a few things we think he could have been doing: Trying to be a hair model, ran off with a travelling orchestra, just got tired of working and wanted to holiday around the world.

6. TOWIE’s Mario Falcone…

2015 also saw the exit of Mario Falcone who reportedly had a row with TOWIE bosses over his promotion of slimming pills on social media. He quit in fury but 18 months after, he’s decided to return to the show.

A source told The Sun: “Mario has been quite keen to come back for a while and TOWIE have invited him back to film the odd cameo and will use him where story permits.”

7. Made In Chelsea’s Francis Boulle…

Being one of the few that actually as a job on MIC, we weren’t surprised when Francis left the show to concentrate on his business. Before he came back to hang out in France, we saw him pack his bag and go hunt for gold in the jungle (duh babes). But he returned to break some hearts and make us yearn for the OG cast of MIC. Funda anyone?

8. Real Housewives Of New York’s Bethenny Frankel...

After having a MAJOR fall-out with BFF Jill Zarin and her Skinny Girl Margarita business taking off, Bethenny decided the Real Housewives life wasn’t for her anymore after season three. But after her solo showBethenny Ever After was cancelled she came crawling back to RHONY for season seven.

9. TOWIE’s Lauren Goodger…

We all remember the drams of Lauren and Mark Wright so we weren’t that shocked to see Lauren quit the show. She revealed after that she also left because of her struggles with her weight.

She said: "I felt under so much pressure. Most of the girls on TOWIE are quite skinny and could wear what the hell they wanted. We all had different body shapes, and I’m not being horrible, but I don’t like boob jobs or even want to be really thin.”

But after leaving in series 6 she reappeared in series 17 to film scenes with newbie Megan McKenna and has been popping up since.

10. VanderPump Rules’ Stassi Schroeder…

Probably one of the most satisfying returns of all time. After Stassi left the show in season two because she had pretty much fallen out with the whole cast, she wasted no time in slagging them all off. But when her new relationship fell apart and she moved back to LA from NYC, she was forced to come crawling back with her tail between her legs and apologise ON CAMERA in season three. Everyone was SO smug.

11. Made In Chelsea’s Ollie Locke…

When Ollie came out as bisexual he decided it was time to go live his life off camera and focus on other television opportunities.

He said at the time: “I've quit the show. I have done five seasons, I've had three breakups, I've come out as bisexual... I've done all that and I've decided the party's over for me."

"But I'll never close the door fully. There are lots of other projects in mind and people are talking. It's terrifying to be leaving the show as it's all I known on TV.” But those projects never really took of and after taking part in Celebrity Big Brother, Ollie returned to Chelsea and slotted right back in."

12. TOWIE’s Gemma Collins…

Gemma Collins has quitTOWIE more times than we’ve watched the GIF of her running around with a miniature pony in CBB. A LOT. Among the reasons there have been fights with the cast, to star in Celebrity Big Brother, abuse from online trolls and loads more. So it’s kind of a monthly occurrence when she announces that the GC IS BACK. Thank the Lord, tbh.
