11 Stars Who've Managed To Pull Their Celeb Crush
After Liam Payne admits Cheryl has always been his 'dream girl', here's some other celebs who've managed to pull their celeb crush. Check them out at MTV.co.uk.
Having a celebrity crush can be a bitter-sweet experience. On the plus side, you’ve found the one you’re meant to marry, your true love, the cheese to your toastie and nothing can stop you being together.
But err, there’s also the slightly less lovely fact that they don’t know you exist and may never come and find you, which can be problematic in a relationship.
Luckily, Liam Payne and Cheryl have recently confirmed that there’s hope for us all – and it IS possible that fate could shine down on you one day to make it happen.
This lot prove that, if anything, you should keep your fingers crossed that Harry Styles DOES find that fanfiction you wrote about him a few years ago, because they managed to pull their celeb crush and turn it into the start of something beautiful.
1. Liam and Cheryl
Chezza and Liam go way back, as they first met in 2011 when 14 year old Liam auditioned for her as an X Factor judge.
Clearly he’s spent the past six years fancying the arse off of her, and seeing as she’ll be giving birth to his actual baby any day now, it was probably worth the wait.
In an interview with Rollacoaster magazine this week, Liam revealed: "In a non-cliche way, it's weird waking up every day and literally living out your dream... Obviously I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world and she's absolutely amazing. She's been my dream girl since I was younger. She's so ace."
2. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian
Kanye may not exactly seem the patient type, but he first developed a big fat crush on future wife Kim back in 2006 and it took a fairly lengthy nine years for him to get his dream woman. Kris Jenner even revealed once that he would apparently draw himself into the family Christmas card to profess his love for her.
“I just knew I wanted her to be my girl for a long time,” the rapper said during a Ryan Seacrest radio interview. “I remember I saw a picture of her and Paris Hilton, and I remember telling my boy, ‘Have you seen that girl Kim Kar-dijon?’”
3. Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
If you're looking for the cutest couple in all of Celebsville, it's got to be these two. Ashton was Mila's first crush, first actual kiss, first on screen kiss - and now they're married with tiny human babies.
“We all get movie star crushes,” she said in an interview with W magazine. “I’m marrying mine.”
4. Joe Manganiello and Sophia Vergara
Joe and Sophia's crush-turned-relationship started out on a slightly awks note, as she was actually engaged to someone else when he made his first public confession to fancying her. But meh, the rest is history.
“You’re gonna get me in trouble. I don’t want to be like a home wrecker. This person is engaged,” Joe told People magazine about Sophia. “She’s got the curves, she’s got a beautiful face, beautiful hair, just gorgeous. Naturally beautiful. She’s feisty.”
5. Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise
So um, this one famously took a bit of turn for the worse, but back in the pre-Scientology/divorce day it was super cute. Katie was ultimate fangirl goals growing up, and kept a picture of Tom hidden in her textbook. Her school friends have also revealed in the past that Katie would say prayers to keep Tom safe. Lols.
Back in 2004, Katie even told Seventeen magazine that she dreamed of marrying Cruise. Her dream came true when she married him in 2006, but the pair divorced in 2012.
6. Josh Duhamel and Fergie
In the least cool chat up move possible, Josh admitted to having recurring dreams about the Black Eyed Peas’ lead gal in a 2004 issue of InStyle magazine, telling them: “Oh, my God, I’ve got the biggest crush on her! God, she is hot!”
Not exactly smooth, but somehow it worked. The two later ran into each other where Fergie confronted him about the article, and the rest is history. HOORAY.
7. Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose
Things between Wiz and Amber have since turned seriously sour, but back in the day their relationship got off to a pretty cute start. Amber reached out to the rapper after seeing him confess to crushing on her in an interview. She then divorced him in 2004, but y'know.
“He did an interview about me and the guy who interviewed him asked, ‘If there was one girl in the world who would you be with?’ ” Rose told Us Weekly. “He said ‘Amber Rose’ — and then I hit him on Twitter, and I said, ‘That’s really cute’ and we fell in love!”
8. Russell Brand and Katy Perry
Unfortunately, these two are now known for having one of the most notirously messy marriage breakdowns Hollywood has ever seen, but before their relationship first started blossoming, the fangirl pair were all kinds of obsessed with each other.
Talking about a scripted kiss in movie Get Him To The Greek, Katy told Glamour: "On the way down the stairs after the scene, I was hopping like a bunny...He gives me the Christmas Eve jitters.”
They rekindled things at the 2009 VMAs, where host Russell said: “Katy Perry didn’t win an award and she’s staying at the same hotel as me, so she’s gonna need a shoulder to cry on. So in a way, I’m the real winner tonight.”
9. Dougie Poynter and Frankie Bridge
Back in the super early McFly days, when Dougie didn't really say many words outloud, one of the only things he did chat about in interviews was his undying love for Frankie since her S Club Junior days.
The pair dated for around two years after Doug finally bagged his dream girl, but things took a pretty brutal turn. Frankie reportedly dumped him twice in one year, leading Dougie to check himself into The Priory for some time in rehab in 2011. He later admitted: "I didn't fit in with The Saturdays and JLS crowd and party scene anyway."
10. David and Victoria Beckham
Even the human representation of the true meaning of love started out as a celebrity crush, which might make you feel better about life. David Beckham got down on one knee to propose to Victoria in 1998, but before that he'd been fangirling over her as Posh Spice.
He's previously admitted to watching the 'Say You'll Be There' music video on repeat, and deciding that he was going to date the hot brunette in the leather catsuit. Good choice, Becks.
11. Will and Kate
And yep, if you've ever felt embarrassed by your undying, all consuming, verging-on-obsession celebrity crush then just remember that even Royals have one. Before becoming an actual Princess/Duchess, Kate Middleton spent her days dreaming about Prince William, and actually had a poster of him on her dorm walls. Amazing.
So if you're gonna go ahead and marry your celeb crush in the future, can you make sure you pick someone who'll get us all an extra Bank Holiday? Tah.
