From Kim Kardashian To Lorde: 8 Celebrities Who Are Now BFFs With A Former Enemy

Proof that you should never judge someone too quickly

Everyone knows that the most valuable friendships in life are the ones that start off on terrible terms.

While celebrities are generally quite careful about keeping their true thoughts under wraps, the following seven A-Listers admitted they disliked a fellow star before going onto become BFFs with them.

'Let's get checking out a bunch of celebrities with seriously shocking pasts...'

Lorde and Taylor Swift

They might be two halves of the same coin these days, but their friendship got off to a rocky start when the then sixteen-year-old essentially claimed T-Swizzle was too attractive for her own good.

In an interview with Metro, Lorde said: “Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don’t think it’s breeding anything good in young girls. ‘I’m never going to be like Taylor Swift, why can’t I be as pretty as Lorde?’ That’s f–king bulls–t.”

As fate would have it, Lorde is now one of the more faithful members of Taylor’s streamlined squad.

Luke Hemmings and Michael Clifford

5 Seconds Of Summer might seem like the friendliest band of all time, but 50% of its members despised each other when they used to cross paths in the school hallway.Luke confessed that he and Michael “spent a solid year hating each other” before building up a friendship based around their mutual love of Green Day.

Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato

Cast your mind back to 2008 and you’ll remember the time Miley Cyrus teamed up with pal Mandy Jiroux to throw a bit of shade in the direction of Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. The Disney stars soon drew a line under their teenage feud and have consistently had each other’s backs ever since.

Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton

Remember that episode of The Simple Life where Paris Hilton ordered Kim to clear out her entire wardrobe? The heiress would later claim thatshe “created” the Kardashian brand and said that the entire family owed their success to her alone.

Considering Paris recently starred in a campaign for YeezySeason 6, it sounds like the duo have left all that weird competition in the past.

Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne

These two didn’t exactly get on like a house on fire during their One Direction days. Back when the boys were competing on The X Factor, Liam and Louis were on very different pages of the same book.

“The funniest thing now is that me and Louis did not get on. At all. We were two completely different characters... There was one point where I literally wanted to whack him,” Liam admitted.

Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham

The Vampire Diaries co-stars were like chalk and cheese when filming first began on the CW series. It took a while for them to warm up to each other, with Kat telling AOL: “Ian and I used to not like each other at all. We hated each other first season. Now he's my best friend in the cast. He's the person I can say in 30 years will be one of my closest friends."

She continued:"We wanted to kill each other, but I was a kid and we were both very strong people. I was still finding myself, and throughout the years, he's helped me find myself and is now one of my greatest inspirations."

Lorde and Selena Gomez

The New Zealand singer wasn’t a huge fan of the message behind one of Selena Gomez’s songs, telling Rolling Stone: “I'm a feminist. And the theme of [Selena's] song is, 'When you're ready, come and get it from me.' I'm sick of women being portrayed this way."

Sel fired back by saying that the criticism in itself wasanti-feminist, telling Flaunt Magazine: “That's not feminism. [Lorde is] not supporting other women. That's my honest opinion, that's what I would say to her if I saw her."

The pair have since been spotted in each other’s company and it looks like their public spat is all water under the bridge now.

Jay Z and Kanye West

Probably the most complicated celeb friendship in the history books, these two have officially had more ups and downs than an overusedyo-yo. Despite branding some of Kanye’s decisions “unacceptable,” Jay has recently insisted he'll always want the best for his number one pal and “little brother."
