It's A Girl! Duchess Of Cambridge Gives Birth To Daughter
The Duchess of Cambridge has safely given birth to a baby girl in hospital this morning, it has been announced.
Kate Middleton welcomed her second child to the world in a private wing of the St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London - having gone into labour yesterday.
Kensington Palace broke the news in an email to the press, swiftly followed by a series of tweets.
"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am," it was announced.
"The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.
"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales & The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry & members of both families have been informed.
"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

No name has yet been revealed, but bookies have made Alice the favourite - followed by Charlotte, Victoria, Elizabeth and Diana.
The new arrival is fourth in line to the throne.
