Jonathan Rhys Meyers Apologises For "Minor Relapse", Says It Was "A Blip"
The Tudors star has thanked fans for their support after THOSE snaps of him swigging vodka emerged online...
Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers has addressed those worrying photos of him drinking vodka in the middle of a London street.
Last week, Damascus Cover star was snapped stumbling out of a shop looking a little worse for wear, wearing a grubby T-shirt and his jacket on inside out, as he swigged the spirit from the bottle.
Taking to his girlfriend, Mara Lane’s Instagram account today (May 26), the 37-year old - who has struggled with alcohol addiction - admitted that he suffered a “minor relapse”, while thanking fans for their support.
His statement, which was posted alongside a snap of Lane, read: “Mara and I are thankful for your support and kindness during this time. I apologise for having a minor relapse and hope that people don't think too badly of me.
“I stopped drinking immediately and it is no reflection on Damascus Cover as I was not meant to attend Cannes this year and I apologize to fans and colleagues.”

He concluded: “I am on the mend and thank well wishers and sorry for my disheveled appearance as I was on my way home from a friends and had not changed I feel I made a mistake and feel quite embarrassed but this was just a blip in my recovery otherwise I'm living a healthy life.
“Love and blessings. #Rebel #Angel.”
Damascus Cover is slated for release later this year.
