Kim and Khloe Kardashian Tweet Their Reactions As ‘About Bruce’ Special Talks Step Dad’s Transition

The emotional first part showed Bruce speaking frankly with his daughters…

Last month, Bruce Jenner told the world that he was transitioning into a woman during an interview with Diane Sawyer.

But while the first official interview mainly focused on Bruce’s journey and included his children from a previous marriage, now the Kardashians (as well as Kendall and Kylie Jenner) are having their say in the E! special ‘About Bruce’.

Part of the long-running series ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’, ‘About Bruce’ focuses on him explaining his transition to his kids, which understandably causes a lot of tears and even some arguments.

Part One, which aired on Sunday (May 17), voices the girls’ concerns that the person they’ve known forever will be ‘gone’ and replaced.

But even though Kendall is mainly tearful in the conversation with her dad, Khloe hits out at Bruce’s lack of honesty in the situation – which goes back as far as a decade ago, when Kim first caught Bruce dressed as a woman.

After Khloe asks him if he’s planning on ‘not being Bruce’ anytime soon and Bruce replies ‘yes’, she then explains: “My sisters and I knew that Bruce was a cross-dresser but we were never told he was going to fully transition and turn into a woman."

"I don't think it's fair you don't tell us this is in the near future. This entire process, for me it is something that will take time. It's scary that Bruce is going to be gone."

Although the news to the family is still a shock, it’s clear Kim wasn’t the only one who saw Bruce as a woman before he announced his plans to change.

In the previous Diane Sawyer interview, Bruce says that Kendall and Kylie accidentally saw him dressed as a woman on a security camera – but Kendall states there were other occasions that led to her realisation.

“We'd find makeup, like lipstick, and we'd think he was having an affair and we didn't want our family broken up so we didn't tell anyone,” she explained.

“I woke up to go and get water and I came down the stairs and went into the kitchen and I saw him… and I just backed up and I ran up the stairs quietly and I went to bed.”

Even though youngest daughters Kendall and Kylie didn’t comment on the special on social media, Kim, Khloe and Bruce’s ex-wife Kris Jenner tweeted about the show throughout the night.

Amongst her emotional posts, Khloe said of her step-dad: “Bruce is so strong and courageous! I couldn't be prouder of him. This is so hard to relive. I love you.”

She also added: “Kim has handled this transition with such grace and I'm incredibly proud to call her my sister.”

Bruce had previously stated that Kim had taken the news the best, and has even helped him with his style for when he’s finally ready to fully become a woman.

She also shared her thoughts about the programme as it aired, saying: “Must have been so hard for Bruce to explain his story to each of us. Can u imagine?! I respect him so much 4 opening up & being so truthful.”

She continued: “Awwww the tears! Watching this back & reliving this is harder than I imagined! I'm happy we opened up & shared our journey.”

Kris Jenner appeared briefly during the special, and got very tearful after talking about the subject with Kim.

Breaking down in bed, she tells her: “I'm not okay, I don't know how to handle it. This is my life, I committed to this life and he has just checked out."

Kim responded to this on Twitter, posting to her followers: “Breaks my heart my mom questions if her memories were real. That was 4sure a part of Bruce's life. Must be hard to go thru this as his wife.”

The second half of the programme is set to air Monday (May 18), which Khloe said she is ‘anxious’ for people to see.

Mainly though, the message of the show so far is how proud of Bruce his family are of him, and we’re sure tonight’s second part will be just as emotional.
