Noel Fielding And Sandi Toksvig To Host Great British Bake Off Following Move To Channel 4
Plus Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith as judges.
There's going to be a Mary Berry, Mel AND Sue-shaped hole in all of our hearts now that it's been confirmed that the Great British Bake Off is set to move from the BBC to Channel 4.
But it's now been confirmed who their replacements will be when the show returns and it's Prue Leith joining Paul Hollywood on the judging panel as comedian Noel Fielding and presenter and writer Sandi Toksvig take over presenting duties.
“GBBO is one of my favourite shows. I’ve always loved brightly coloured cakes and Sandi Toksvig so this is a dream come true for me! It’s basically the double," Noel Fielding said regarding the news.
Sandi seems pretty excited at getting to shove cake in her face every week and get paid for it too and adds: “It is an extraordinary honour to part of this national treasure of a show. Noel Fielding is one of the nicest guys in show business. The first time I met him I felt like I had met a rather wayward cousin whose take on the world made me laugh. The only down side is that he has much better dress sense that I do.
"I spend my daytimes on Channel 4 already so it will be a treat to be there in the evenings. I am so delighted to be working with Love Productions and Channel 4 on this best of British show.”
Paul is the only GBBO original to be sticking around and while we're sure he'll miss his main gal Mary Berry, he's ready to welcome the newbies, saying: “I could not be more delighted by who will be joining me on the show.
"Prue is a hugely respected culinary legend and Sandi and Noel are warm and utterly hilarious. I cannot wait to get back in the tent with the bakers.”
Let's just hope they know their soggy bottoms from their buttery biscuit bases.
