The day Zayn Malik removed One Direction from his Twitter name was always going to come and we’re sad to report it’s finally happened.

The singer took to the social-networking site last night (April 30) to deny that he was taking part in a meet-and-greet at a hotel in Dorchester, with fans spotting that he’d dropped 1D from the end of his user handle.

And it wasn’t just the 1D that Mailk dropped, with the star also altering his bio to simply read “England”, deleting his previous blurb which read: “Just close your eyes and enjoy the rollercoaster that is life.” Boooo...

All of these changes obviously touched a nerve with Directioners, with the trend #YouWillAlwaysBeZaynMalik1D soon trending worldwide.
