T in The Park is skipping a year
In the only music news story published this year to centre on an osprey’s nest, T in The Park will, sadly, be unable to run this year.
The Scottish festival – which has been running since 1994 – has been facing a number of difficulties since an unregistered, but protected in law osprey’s nest, forced the festival to move from its birthplace of Balado, Kinross in 2015, to a new location, where various restrictions and traffic issues have made the situation particularly challenging.
The organisers will be giving the festival a year off as they seek to resolve these issues.

Chance the Rapper is working on his debut album!
Chance the Rapper has released three mixtapes to date, but has now confirmed in an interview with Radio 1 that he is working on his debut album.
When asked by DJ Semtex what he plans to do following the release of his third mixtape, the brilliant Colouring Book, Chance replied: “What is next? I'll probably put out an album, that's what I've been thinking about, just between us.” He continued, “I don't know exactly the format every time when I'm making something but a lot of times I have an idea, and I think what I'm working on right now is an album.”
What even is the difference between a mixtape and an album? Chance was keen to note that his ““mixtapes have been confused for albums for a long time” and that his next project will be different. He stressed that his next project will be “something that you can consider an album” but “it might not be physical, or a disc or something, but an album that comes with its own live show is important.”
