        Beck

          Old School artist Beck is play O2 Wireless this summer! The event kicks off in London’s Hyde Park from 3rd-6th July. Beck will be playing on the 4th alongside headliner Morrissey. To warm things up a little Beck has also planned a gig in Manchester 1st July then in Southampton on 2nd.

                          It’s been three years…but Coldpay are back, and let’s hope the time out has made their new album a cracker! The album, ‘Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends’ (bit of a mouthful!) is out mid June and to celebrate the arrival of the album, they are playing two FREE gigs!                           Latitude

                            Foals and Crystal Castles are playing this years Latitude Festival.                               Redfest

                                Redfest is a new festival hosting a wicked line-up with performers such as The Macabees, Lightspeed Champion, Late of the Pier and Does It Offend You Yeah? The festival takes place on Robin's Cook Farm in Surrey on 4th and 5th July, and with just a 5,000 people capacity, it is going to be a wicked intimate summer festival!

                                The Hives

                                  The Hives are back, playing Get Loaded in the Park 24th August and hopefully they will be treating us to some fresh new tunes from their latest album ‘Black and White’. The band will be playing alongside the one and only Gogol Bordello, The Gossip, Mylo, Kate Nash, Reverend and the Makers, Supergrass and loads more.

                                  The Wombats

                                    Those cheeky Wombats are on tour this week! Tickets have sold out, gutted but if you are going to see these guys wahey, We’re sure they will charm you with their wit and musical flair. The band is also planning a Stateside release of their album, ‘The Wombats Proudly Present… A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation’ this summer!                                     Bloc Party

                                      Want to have fun and be charitable at the same time? Block Party are set to play Durham University’s Racecourse which is the venue for Future Perfect on Sunday 8th June. This is a charity event organised by the uni’s student’s union and Durham City Vision. This festival will have you dancing in your flip flops with Bloc Party, Mr Scruff and Layo & Bushwacka. 1000 Early bird tickets are on sale now.

                                      Massive Attack

                                        Massive Attack are headling London’s Royal Festival Hall, as part of the Meltdown Festival. Massive attack have been given the honour of being a curator, past curators of the event include David Bowie, Patti Smith and Morrissey! The event runs from 14th-22nd June and includes other acts such as Tom Tom Club, Cool Kids and DJ sets from Four Tet and Peaches.

                                          Brighton’s 3 day festival, Great Escape kicks off on 15th May! The festival features up to 200 artists spread over 25 venues!                                               The Gatecrasher Summer Sound System is Celebrating 20 years of Acid House! The two day event is being held over May bank holiday weekend (24th-25th) at Turweston Aerodrome, Northamptonshire. Hot Chip have just been added to the DJ list along with Mark Ronson and Zane Lowe with headliners The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers, this is defiantly one not to miss, don't forget your glow sticks!

                                              Field Day Festival

                                                East London’s Victoria Park is clearly the place to be this summer, not only does the historical park get to witness the Lovebox Weekender, but also a new one-off, one-day festival in the form of “Field Day,” taking place on August 11th. Put together as a collaboration by some of London’s finest music promoters, the event aims to create a more leftfield and abstract feel than the countless other major festivals. And with acts confirmed so far including Battles, Foals and Bat for Lashes, it looks like they are going to succeed. As well as presenting some of the hippest bands around for your viewing pleasure, Field Day will also allow you to prove just how cool you are in competitions such as welly throwing and tug-of-war’s. And did I mention the burlesque dancers? Tickets are insanely cheap (around the £22 mark) so you’ve got absolutely no excuse not to go chuck some wellys at burlesque dancers, whilst listening to Battle’s “Atlas.” Sounds perfect!                                                           Wavestock

                                                            The music festival with doubles as the biggest wakeboarding festival in Europe has just announced that The Streets, Supergrass and the Young Knives are set to play. The event kicks off at Oxfordshire’s Blenheim Palace on June 27-29th, then in Abersoch, north Wales from July 4-6th. Tickets are on sale now and if you hurry you may even be able to wangle a V.I.P. package.

                                                                The eco-friendly festival is living up to its name again this summer, having just confirmed shoegaze legends My Bloody Valentine will be headlining the first night of the 2008 edition. Other acts confirmed to play on the Isle of Wight over the 3 days include Aphex Twin, CSS, Foals, The Teenagers, Pendulum and DJ Yoda. As well as the delightfully eclectic line-up, the quirky festival boasts unique attractions such as a dressing up area, an inflatable wedding chapel, and even luxury bohemian-themed Bivouacs, complete with double beds for those who aren’t fans of the regular camping experience. Tickets are on sale now for Bestival, which runs over the weekend of Friday 5th September till Sunday 7th.

                                                                  Fresh from playing showcase gigs at SXSW in Texas, and supporting The Cribs on tour, these young London upstarts head out on their first headline UK tour of this size.
