JASMINE DOTIWALA - Head of MTV Base

JASMINE

One time presenter of youth cult show The Word, columnist for The Eastern Eye, Touch magazine, Tense magazine and American hip-hop monthly, Vibe magazine. Jasmine went from Senior Producer-director at MTV News International to heading up MTV Base production and is one of the channels’ urban music specialists over seeing THE LICK, DJ TAKEOVER, and FROM THE ENDZ. With respect, friends and vast knowledge in the industry - Jasmine is Base's Base. MORE

 

SUSAN YOUNIS - Assistant Producer

SUSAN

Born in Lagos to Lebanese & Nigerian parentage - Susan somehow dodged immigration and found her way to England by the age of 4. After deciding at a young age that she wanted to become a wrestler - a dream that was later shattered when she realised she wouldn't be able to keep her hair "did" - Susan yearned to carve a career in music. Fast forward a decade, she found herself taking a year out in Los Angeles where she took an internship at MTV Networks. Upon her return to London, she stalked everyone in the industry before getting a job at MTV UK. Now working on MTV BASE, Susan has brought you the biggest and best MTV BASE shows as well as been lucky enough to interview the biggest stars in hip hop & R&B. She is undoubtedly the nosiest girl in the game and will be bringing you the hottest gossip from all things urban! MORE

 

YEMI BAMIRO - Senior Researcher

YEMI

Yemi is as much into music as he is films. Yemi considers Francis Ford Coppola as a genius and can be found increasing his brain power reading up on late great auteurs of Hollywood. Back to the matter in hand, before working at Base, Yemi watched the Lick religiously and now finds himself working on it. Yemi is the man in the know, aiming to be on point about the scene, he produces and directs a feature on Base called About to Blow. It’s grown into a bit of monster – apparently the kids love it. JACK O'HARE - Junior Researcher

JAK

Young T.V maker and self proclaimed Digital Kid, Jack or 'JaK FrSH' as he is known describes himself as 'Self taught Self motivated and Self inspired.' Jak has been part of the MTV Base team since summer 2007, starting out as an intern and now working with Yemi as a Junior Researcher. Jak can already boast working on Base backstage at the EMAs and is soon to direct a new show called FROM THE ENDZ on Base. Jak brings his unsigned acts knowledge to MTV Base, he knows what's going on and aims to help UK Urban music get more exposure. MORE

 

ISABEL AFFUM - Intern

ISABEL

The newest member of the Base team, Isabel is on a mission to become Base's newest producer and produce some 'badass programs' in future. A fountain of knowledge on the hip hop scene from the early 90s onwards, labeled by her mates as ‘one stop hip hop’, Isabel's writing skills put many to shame! In her own words Isabel loves music almost as much as her family! A sucker for Family Guy & South Park…well any animation really - Isabel brings her bubbly personality, ideas and in depth urban knowledge to the camp. MORE
