DJ Takeover | Rickie & Melvin from Sep 15
Currently Melvin presents on Kiss with his partner in crime Rickie Haywood-Williams. Melvins experience in all aspects of the media is exceptional for his young age. As a child Melvin acted in a number of theatre productions and even gave speeches to governors for youth council.
During the week, Melvin worked as a freelance broadcast assistant for 1Xtra. As a BA for the station, Melvin produced and voiced features, records and organised guest interviews whilst staying close to his love of the Urban music scene.
As well as Kiss Rickie is also the new face of our beloved MTV News. He has always been the obvious choice for youth programming, Rickie's strengths lie in his charm, affable personality and who can deny that schoolboy twinkle in his eyes!
Taking the opportunity of work experience at the newly established 1Xtra BBC with both hands, Rickie became a full time broadcast assistant for the digital station as well as frequently working for BBC Radio 1 on a number of shows.
