Lily Allen doesn’t pretend she’s the next Coco Chanel, but she does seem genuinely proud of her clothing range ‘Lily Loves’ for New Look which launched last night in London.

Lily brought along her dad, her best friend Miquita Oliver and her brass section to play a pitch perfect set in the new flagship store.

She then unveiled the collection of dresses, jewellery and shoes inspired by her own unique style.

You’d have to have your head in the sand to ignore the other female celeb collection on display just a few doors down on Oxford Street, and Lily herself was more than aware of comparisons with Kate Moss’ collection for Topshop…

‘Kate Moss’s range is great; it’s just not so great for people like me,’ she told MTV News.

This star has no problem admitting her obsession with dresses started because they’re great at covering up big bums. It seems Lily wanted her collection to appeal to women of all sizes:

‘Fashion can be fun and for everybody, it doesn’t have to be for tiny little sticks,’ she said.

So whilst Kate Moss’ range includes hot pants and dangerously short dresses for those of you out there who haven’t yet heard of cellulite, Lily’s collection is more likely to flatter those of us who just can’t resist dessert!

Lily Loves for New Look isn’t awe inspiring nor is it unbelievably original, but just like her it’s approachable, colourful and fun – that’s enough to make anyone Smile.
