Madonna has spoken out in support of Tom Cruise’s Scientology beliefs in New York magazine insisting that the superstar gets a “raw deal”.
Madge defended Cruise after he and wife Katie attended a reception in aid of her charity Raising Malawi.
She told New York Magazine: “I don't care if people worship turtles or frogs - if they're good people, that's all I care about, and he (Cruise) is a good person.”
Papa don’t preach…but Madge does it seems, she continued: “I think he gets a raw deal, just as I think the orphans in Malawi get a raw deal; just as I think a lot of marginalised people get a raw deal."
Speaking of Malawi – Madonna’s adoption hearing for 2 year old David Banda has also been delayed after the singer requested a postponement.
A spokesman told Reuters the final hearing will now be on May 15 "unless her lawyers ask for another date".

Madona who?
I wholeheartedly agree with Madonna. People shouldn't be attacked or laughed at because they belong to a minority religion. I personally joined a minority religion once (also that people called a cult) and was part of it for a few years - later when I left, I was still the same good person that I was before. Thank God that I live in a country where I was free to join and free to leave whatever religion I choose. What I see when I see various celebrities get attacked for stupid things is a "large stage" view of what can develop in everyday life - lazy uniformed "mob mentality" ridiculing or attacking you for beliefs and values they don't bother to really understand, for their own amusement. Remember that only three hundred years ago they'd put you to death for proposing ideas such as the world might not be flat. I believe and hope that our consciousness as a race is evolving and that we will see less and less of this kind of bigotry in the future.
