Meet Laura, your new MTV News presenter...
The auditions were tough, the competition was fierce - but we got our girl!
She applied through myspace and now can't wait to start her new job!
We caught up with Laura just after she heard the good news...
MTV: Why did you decide to become a TV presenter?
Laura: There aren't many people who DON'T want to be a TV Presenter but this isn't something I just wanted to so, this is something I KNEW I could do. There's a buzz you get that's hard to describe - you are basically putting yourself completely out there and a lot is riding on you - it's a great feeling to be able to do it. When I was younger, like most five year olds I wanted to be a TV Presenter when I grew up- Unlike a lot of people as I grew up I kept that dream of being a presenter. While most of my friends looked for 'real jobs' I still had my head in the clouds. I never gave up on it. I also studied journalism at university and felt it gave me a good foundation for the business.
MTV: Are you excited about moving to London?
Laura: Great night life, Great People, Great shops, Great job....... so that's a YES!!
MTV: What will you be missing most from home?
Laura: Irish Stuff.. like my mammy
MTV: What music do you like?
Laura: I wouldn't just tick one box. I'm a bit random. I love The Frames, Foo Fighters, Stereophonics, The Kooks, Skunk Anansie, Kanye West, U2, Timbaland, Jeff Buckley, New Order, Oasis, Queens of the Stone Age, Joss Stone, The Beatles, Robbie Williams, Green Day, The Coronas, Damien Rice . You can't beat a bit of JT or Britney on the dance floor on a Saturday night. I'm also a big fan of Eighties cheese. Told you I was random.
MTV: Which MTV shows are your favourite?
Laura: Ones starring me;)...
MTV: What advice would you give to people who'd like to become presenters?
Laura: Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. If you really want something you have to go for it and above all, be yourself! It's a job you must take serious but also be able to have fun with.

I would just like to say fair play to you Laura. While Cat and Gemma seemed like lovely girls, I thought you were great especially considering that both other girls had previous presenting experience! I think all the begrudgers should just give you a chance and quit moaning!
Gemmas the girl you want to be your best mate, Cats the girl you want to be like and Laura well shes neither. MTV used to be out there & edgy and that now its bornin' peronalityless and doesnt get me. Im off to watch e4.
Just finished watchin all the episodes of PIck Me! Great show, but as far as I'm concerned that Cat girl was robbed! What were you thinkin?

"Ones starring me" Um... she's only a co-host. How up yourself can you get? Gemma or Cat deserved to win. Gemma had a way better personality and Cat was much hotter. She only won because there's no Irish presenter on MTV.
