Alex Pettyfer Admits That Channing Tatum Really Does Hate Him

We bet the Magic Mike set was just a bundle of laughs, then.

Alex Pettyfer has finally put the rumours that Channing Tatum hates him to rest, simply by admitting that they're all true.

Years after working together on Magic Mike, the Brit actor opened up about their feud with Bret Easton Ellis for his podcast recently, explaining:

"Channing Tatum does not like me - and for many reasons. Many being my own fault," he began.

He says that Tatum wasn't keen on hiring him because of his reputation, resulting in Pettyfer keeping a low profile on set.

"I was scared to speak. I actually did my work and I sat in the corner and listened to music because I had been told anything I did was wrong by my reps. I was very insecure as a human being," he continued.

"That also gave me a bad rep because everyone was like, 'Alex doesn't speak because he thinks he's better than everyone else.' That's not true. I was just generally nervous and scared to be myself. I was in character.

But according to Pettyfer, it all came to a head when he and his ex girlfriend rented an apartment from a friend of Tatum's.

He says that he left the flat after four months due to an allergic reaction to the dust and mold, then forgetting to pay rent after his cousin passed away.

"They asked for the four months rent, which in hand I should have paid there and then," he admits, explaining, "What happened was my cousin passed away, his lungs collapsed and he died ... and I was devastated and dealing with family drama and forgot about the situation which was the apartment."

This is where Tatum got involved, as Pettyfer says: "And I all the sudden got a very negative email from Channing, rightfully so, saying 'Don't f--- my friends. You owe money. Pay the f------ money. Don't be a clown.'"

Pettyfer decided to email him back saying he's not paying, but has since admitted he was "wrong in not paying the rent," but "[Tatum] was just looking for an excuse not to like" him.

"What Channing says goes because he's a movie star," he concluded, before singing Tatum's praise on being an "incredible influence" during their time working together.
