Channing Tatum: 'I Haven't Signed For X-Men Yet'

Star insists he really wants to play Gambit, but says deal not yet done...

Channing Tatum has warned X-Men fans not to get too excited - because he hasn't finalised his deal to appear in the superhero movie franchise yet.

We told you recently that Chan the man had been confirmed by an exec at 20th Century Fox to be playing Gambit in future movies.

But now the 34-year-old star has now revealed that he hasn't yet signed on the dotted line.

"I hope to be joining - everything's not done yet," he told The Hollywood Reporter.

"I've obviously been in talks, and we're on the one yard line. I'm always afraid of being like, 'Yes, it's totally happening' and then it doesn't happen… I'm dying to do it."

Tatum is expected to appear in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse if he does sign up, with speculation that a solo movie could follow.

He is currently at the Cannes Film Festival promoting Foxcatcher - and has also been discussing Magic Mike XXL.
