Channing Tatum: 'I'm Giving Up Acting For A Year'
Magic Mike hunk wants to get behind the camera and direct instead...
Magic Mike star Channing Tatum has revealed that he is planning to give up acting for a year in order to focus on directing movies instead.
The 32-year-old hunk, recently named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine in the US, has appeared in five movies in the last year - but is now planning to get behind the camera.
He told Entertainment Weekly: "We have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we're going to shut things down and write the first thing that we're going to direct.
"We're going to be like, alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let's take a few and really get caring about that section of our career."
But the star, who hit the big time this year thanks to the success of his male-stripping movie, says he has no regrets about his roles so far.
"I love the steps that I've taken acting-wise. That has been a wild sort of exploration.
"But I don't want to just keep putting directing off for these fun and incredible opportunities."
The original plot was written by Tatum based on his experiences working as a male stripper.
